We are collecting more fragments about the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The manufacturer will bet on a completely different approach than the competition

  • According to leaks, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a battery with the same 5000 mAh capacity but higher energy density
  • The main camera is expected to retain the 200 Mpx resolution, but it is not clear if it will be a new sensor
  • Samsung will likely implement faster charging and a thinner body thanks to a more space-efficient battery design

Although the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is still more than half a year away, the first credible information leaks are already appearing online. This time, we are learning details about two key specifications of the upcoming top model Galaxy S26 Ultra – its battery and main camera. Although at first glance it may seem that Samsung is preparing more of an evolution than a revolution, the details suggest interesting improvements in energy efficiency.

Battery: same capacity, higher density

According to information from reputable leakers, the battery capacity in the Galaxy S26 Ultra will remain at the same value of 5000 mAh, which we have known from several generations of top models, including the current S25 Ultra. However, this does not mean that nothing will change in the area of power supply. IceUniverse claims that the new battery will have significantly higher energy density, which in practice means that while maintaining the same capacity, it will take up less space in the device’s body.

Samsung will likely not use this gained space to increase capacity, but rather to further slim down the phone’s body. This is a completely different approach than that of Chinese competitors and suggests that the Korean manufacturer considers the current 5000 mAh sufficient for all-day endurance and prefers to focus on design.

The positive news is that the S26 Ultra could finally offer faster charging. Although the leaker did not provide specific values, they mention that Samsung will likely implement new technology that will enable faster charging thanks to better thermal management. The current S25 Ultra supports charging up to 45 W, which is still a relatively conservative value compared to competitors from China.

Camera: 200 Mpx remains the standard

Regarding the camera, a source from GalaxyClub states that the **main sensor will retain the 200 Mpx resolution**, just like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, it is not clear whether Samsung will use a completely new sensor or an improved version of the existing one. For users, it would naturally be more beneficial if the manufacturer implemented a newer generation sensor with better light and detail processing.

It is important to remember that the same resolution does not mean the same photo quality – Samsung can improve image processing at the software level or add new features using artificial intelligence. In recent years, we have seen that **software and AI play an increasingly important role in photography** than the hardware specifications themselves, although they, of course, also have their limitations.

Information about the other cameras is currently missing. We can only speculate whether Samsung will retain four sensors including a pair of telephoto lenses or come up with a surprise; personally, I would appreciate an improved ultrawide sensor, for example.

We will wait for other specifications

Given that the launch of the Galaxy S26 series is more than six months away (expected in **January 2026**), it is natural that most specifications remain shrouded in mystery. In the coming months, we will certainly learn more about the processor used, the display, RAM, and other key parameters.

From the leaks so far, it seems that Samsung is betting on a proven strategy of gradual improvements rather than radical changes for its flagship model. From a certain perspective, this makes sense, as the Galaxy S25 Ultra is already an excellent phone that in many ways does not have significant shortcomings that would need urgent addressing.

For those who don’t want to wait for the S26 series, Samsung will unveil new foldable phones next week, the **Galaxy Z Fold 7** and **Galaxy Z Flip 7**, where significant innovations are expected, especially for the Fold, which will be thinner and offer a more pleasant aspect ratio for the front display.

What would you improve on Samsung’s current TOP flagship?
