Nothing OS 4.0 is coming sooner than expected! What does this mean for owners of Nothing phones?

Nothing has announced that Nothing OS 4.0, based on the new operating system Android 16, will be available as early as the end of September this year. This information represents a significant acceleration compared to last year’s Android 15 update, which reached users only towards the end of 2025. The faster release of Android 16 suggests that Nothing has improved its strategy for developing and deploying software updates.

At the same time, this is good news for owners of Nothing Phone (2) and the new CMF Phones, who might receive the update earlier than in previous years. However, owners of the latest model, the Nothing Phone (3), are likely to get it fastest.

Unfortunately, Nothing has not yet revealed the exact details of the new features in its overlay. However, it can be expected that OS 4.0 will utilize all the improvements that Google introduced in Android 16; this means not only better performance and security optimization but also more elements based on artificial intelligence.

Nothing had previously indicated that it is intensively working on integrating AI into its devices.

Nothing OS 4.0 is not the only thing that will please owners of the new flagships

Nothing also confirmed that the new Nothing Phone (3) will receive up to 5 major Android updates and 7 years of security patches, which puts it significantly above the current market average.

Users are therefore assured of long-term software support, which is important for the stability, security, and functionality of their phones.

Do you see faster updates as a strong argument for buying Nothing phones?
