Google Fi změna hlasové schránky

If you use the Google Fi service on an iPhone, an important change awaits you. Google has announced that users will no longer receive voicemails through the Google Fi app, but directly through the integrated Phone app in iOS.

The change began gradually taking effect this week, but should be fully available to everyone by July 2nd. Access to voicemails through the app will then be completely discontinued from August.

This means one very important thing: if you have messages in your inbox that you want to keep, you should download them via the Google Takeout service by August 13th. After this date, they will unfortunately no longer be available in the app.

How did voicemails in Google Fi work until now?

Until now, voicemails could occasionally appear in the iOS Phone app only under certain conditions – for example, when the Live Voicemail feature was active, the phone was turned on, and it was within service range.

Google had already indicated the arrival of this voicemail redirection in April, so it is not a shocking change. Furthermore, it will solve the common problem of duplicate notifications that announced incoming voicemails both through the Google Fi app and in the native Phone app.

Do you think this is a welcome change?
